The Hoodoo Factory in LA

I have no idea if this belongs here, but since I’m getting ready to throw it on my blog, I figured I’d also add it here since I think at least one person (or more) lives in LA?

I’ve known two of these folks for years. I’d ended up writing in the Sutra of the Poison Buddha with them for a bit and had even chatted with Austin (Baron Samadhi) when Irreality was still a major occult hub.

Anyway, Austin Cappock is starting his next round of basic astrology courses, and for those interested if you send him an email at: austin (at) hoodoofactory (dot) com, with the title "Jack Faust sent me," he’ll take $10 off the top of the class fee. Class prices are at:
n-person at the Hoodoo Factory $108
‣Distance via the Internet $78
‣Only recordings $54

This is just for the generic courses, for full six month periods Austin charges:
‣In-person at the Hoodoo Factory $500 (Value of $648)
‣Distance via the Internet $350 (Value of $468)
‣Only recordings $250 (Value of $324)

You can view his astrology column here if you’re curious.

About the Tarot & Numerology

Hi, all –
i’m new to this board & have some questions:
1), Does anyone know of a Tarot deck that has Wands corresponding to Air & Swords corresponding with Fire? i realize that the reverse is usually given, but i have always been uncomfortable with it.
If none are available…
2), Where can i get blank decks? i live in San Francisco, but am willing to buy them on the ‘Net — providing i buy them offline (no bank account, hence no credit card).
3), In numerology, my birth number is 5 (8/20/’48), but i’m not sure how to reckon my name:
a), on my birth certificate it appears as Thomas Frederick Buescher*;
b), When my father acknowledged that i was his son the military changed my birth certificate to read Thomas Frederick Fultz;
c), i’ve gone by Leo (my Astrosign) since i was 18 (am 61, now).
Whch of these factors into Numerology?
Also — i’m not aware of this — but does one include time of birth in Numerology?
Thanx,
Leo

*My mother’s maiden name.

Metal Seals and Talismans

http://www.ilcrogiuolo.it/eng/s/58/s…g-salomon.html (GKoS, Honorius, etc.)

http://www.ilcrogiuolo.it/eng/s/58/s…talismans.html (Angelic Seals)

I haven’t worked with this site posted above yet but I think I’m going to. Also, I have a craftsman friend who is apparently going to be attempting to create some GKoS seals on metal for me, so if it turns out well I’ll be recommending to him anyone from here interested in custom work done at a fair price.

Egyptian Magick

I have been highly disappointed with the numerous new age type fluff books on the market today about Egyptian Magick. Is there anyone out there that can recommend to me a REAL book about Egyptian Magick? I am in search of THE book. So please let me know if anyone has any recommendations.

Geomancy

Hey guys. I’ve messed around with geomancy in the past with what was in the equinox and with whichever such stuff could easily be found on the intarwebs. I understand the premise behind it all with making the dots into the figures and how to go about doing it and the general basics like that. Now I’m looking for some well written, preferably modern, and non-boring resources to more thoroughly learn from before I go about finally tackling the subject once and for all. Now … can anyone reading this recommend me any books they’ve liked? Cool if so. It’d be appreciated.

Goetics and familiars…

I’m a newbie occultist working with goetics, as they appeal to me as a form of medieval magic. I’ve had success with the goetics I’ve worked with so far, and their presence seems to be making me better at sensing spirits. So far, I’ve had these occurrences
1. Hearing a woman whisper my name near me before falling asleep. (possibly Gremory?)
2. My mother, (I’m a young occultist) whose capable of sensing spirits quite well, has heard a grunting-growl speech coming from my ritual room.
3. My mother heard my voice yelling something in my ritual room when I wasn’t even home. (my guess is it was ‘resonance’ of some kind from my ritual room because I tend to read loud litanies).
4. I also saw a black, shadow-like phantasm quickly dart across the road and disappear behind something in the morning heading to my bus stop. I’m assuming this is just a shadow person.

As of now, I currently regard these events as nothing to fear, because if anything they’re merely a showing of results from my ritual successes. I have not banished, as I don’t feel the need to, and I’ve heard of one occult writer keeping his entities around because their energy builds up and adds to his own workings power.

I have a question regarding familiars and goetia, and thats this…
Are there goetics that I can ask to be around at all times so I’d be able to practice sensing its presence at all times? Or maybe have one give me a familiar for this purpose?

Prayer for Enlightenment

Set your associations up, perhaps with an image of Lucifer being included in your alters array. Light the incense. Focus. Center yourself however you may, preparing for this however is to be deemed appropriate, then begin as follows and repeat three times:

Hail Lucifer. Lord and master of the element of Air.

I ask of you, friend and brother Lucifer, grant me now thy wisdom and aide me in obtaining knowledge toward new beginning. In the utterance of thy name I move thee, and I invoke the strength of your nature to aide me, to surround me, and to impale me with the illuminating force of thy light. Lord Lucifer, hear my prayer.

You, bringer of enlightenment and wisdom… in your honor I hail the season of wisdom, of rebirth, and enlightenment.
Show us truth and reason and take us to beyond. For it is you, brave Lucifer, who hath brought us from darkness into the light. And your winds carry with them the lessons for this lifetime. To know Thee, is to come to know Thyself.

Exalt me and so shall I be raised up! All Hail Lucifer, Lord of Light!

Renich Tasa Uberaca Biasa Icar Lucifer!

What is Déjà vu?

A few days ago I had Deja Vu all day long. Like I had recently dreamed it (in symbolic form) and it was now happening.

I hadn’t been sleeping well due to death in the family (and traveling) so I was taking Ambien though I rarely take sleeping pills. It felt as if I my dreams were being somewhat repressed on Ambien, and that’s when I got all the crazy Deja Vu.

I read through some articles online and it seems Deja Vu is at least sometimes is caused by lack of dreamiing. It’s like if you don’t dream, that some of that dreamworld would come out during the day during Deja Vu.

Any other thoughts on Deja Vu? (besides it being a glitch in the Matrix of course).

Iza

Ceewayne, Babalon, & Me.

So I read something in passing lately, it triggered something, I thought of CW immediately, and then thinking I’d prefer to go straight to the BBS rather than merely chatting privately through PM, I just figured it could be most beneficial for all if a person were to post this insight here in hopes of further insight development and fruitful conversation. Or so I hope. :)

Okay. The number 156 is representative of Our Great Lady, or visa versa. Right.

78, being 156 in division, is the number of initiation. Also right.

Now … 78 is also the number of the cards in any given tarot deck. We all know what the tarot itself is pictographically symbolic of, and it’s real purpose as a teaching device beyond mere divination. Of course.

But… with the former mentioning of numerology still in mind … if we also include the reversed or upside-down indications of our deck of tarot cards as being separate cards then we arrive at a sum total of 156 cards.

Ta da: "Babalon."

Ideas?

First of all let me say that I am not sure if this is in the correct forum for this topic, and if this is the wrong place to post I apologize in advance.

Let me start by saying I do ALOT of pondering on existence, the truth, and the validity of reality. I would just like to share some of my thoughts on the matter and invite anyone to critique or share theirs as well. I have many many ideas I would like to discuss on this thread, so I will edit this post and add more as I have time, but for now I only have time for this first theory, which if nothing else will provoke some thought haha.

First of all, how do you know what is real and what is not? For all you know you’re the only real thing in existence. The world as you know it, including anyone you have ever met, anything you have seen or done, including reading this right now, could merely be a construct of your own conciousness. How can you ever be sure it’s not all just a dream? For arguments sake, lets pretend you are just a brain in a jar hooked up to a powerful artificial reality computer. You can only ever know whats in your own head and the only input you posess are your senses, all of which can be fooled and utterly created out of thin air by simply manipulating the brain and the signals it sends.

If this really is the case though, I’m not writing this to anyone but myself, because if this theory is true, than I am alone, and anyone reading my words is just a figment of my imagination. Or is it you who is imagining me?

Grimoirium Verum

Anyone used this one? Because if you have, then maybe we owe it to ourselves to trade experiences, if so… :) Me, I’ve had a little bit along the line of interesting results since I began using it recently for some sigil magick consecration spells involving the apparently potent forces that fill the pages. Nothing has been mind blowing yet speaking up until now. It’d be interesting to hear how some people saw the spirits even if nothing else… though I definitely don’t doubt the claims of potency by the way.

I don’t know all that much about exactly what constitutes a ‘grimoire’ but I glanced at the AZOETIA and it made me wonder if Jung’s REDBOOK is a grimoire. It seems to to be similar to AZOETIA in many ways and seems to express Jung’s own magic yet very personal as well.

(hotlinking to your blog iza hope that’s OK.)

Phoenician Magick

As I research antiquity I am more and more drawn to the Phoenicians as a starting point for the Western Mystery Traditions. Everyone uses Hebrew, but the names and letters of Phoenicia predate them and use the same names and virtually the same symbols. (Aleph=Ox, beth= house, etc. Nun=serpent and not fish [both of which are included in Crowley's Trump XIII]). I’m even finding Pheonician alphabet to be one of the most magickally resonant alphabet’s I’ve used (esp. when compared to to so-called magickal Alphabets like Theban and Passing by the River.)

Here is a list of God’s I’ve found for Phoenicia/Canaan:

Adon(is), Handsome Young God
Anath, goddess of Love and War, the Maiden
Asherah or Baalat Gubl, Goddess of Byblos
Astarte (or Ashtarte), Queen of Heaven
Baal, El, Ruler of the Universe, Son of Dagan, Rider of the Clouds, Almighty, Lord of the Earth
Baal-Hammon, God of Fertility and Renewer of all Energies in the Phoenician colonies of the Western Mediterranean
Eshmun or Baalat Asclepius, God of Healing
Kathirat, Goddesses of marriage and pregnancy
Kothar, Hasis, the Skilled, God of Craftsmanship
Melqart, King of the Underworld and Cycle of Vegetation
Mot, God of Death
Resheph and Shamash, Gods of (?)
Shahar, God of Dawn
Shalim*, God of Dusk
Shapash, Sun Goddess
Tanit, Chief Goddess of Carthage
Yamm, God of the Sea (?)
Yarikh, Moon God

Anyone have any experience with incorporating Phoenician into their magick? I imagine their indigenous magick would have focused on safe passage over water, but still.
