Cipher-418: The Windows of the Cipher
The Windows of the Cipher
How sliding windows across 28 elements reveal ABRAHADABRA, THERION, and the architecture of Liber AL II:76
The Method
A sliding window is the simplest analytical tool imaginable. Take a sequence of numbers. Place a frame around the first three, or four, or five elements. Read their sum. Slide the frame one position to the right. Read again. Continue until you reach the end.
When the sequence is the cipher of Liber AL vel Legis II:76 — the 28 elements 4 6 3 8 A B K 2 4 A L G M O R 3 Y X 24 89 R P S T O V A L — and the sums are evaluated via the English Qaballa (EQ, Solution 34), the results are not random. They are a catalogue of Thelemic holy names, encoded at specific widths and positions, with a statistical significance that Monte Carlo simulation confirms at p < 0.001.
ENGLISH QABALLA — Solution 34
Derived from Liber AL vel Legis II:76. Each letter receives a value from the natural number series, cycling through the alphabet with a step of 11 (mod 26).
| A=1 | B=2 | C=20 | D=3 | E=4 | F=80 | G=7 | H=6 | I=10 |
| J=10 | K=20 | L=30 | M=40 | N=50 | O=70 | P=80 | Q=100 | R=200 |
| S=60 | T=8 | U=6 | V=6 | W=6 | X=300 | Y=10 | Z=7 |
The Crown Discovery: ABRAHADABRA in Five Elements
Place a window of width 5 at position 20 of the cipher. The elements are:
R P S T O
Their EQ values: R(200) + P(80) + S(60) + T(8) + O(70) = 418.
418 is ABRAHADABRA — the Word of the Aeon, the supreme magical formula of Thelema. It appears here not through any contrivance of interpretation, but through the blunt arithmetic of five consecutive cipher elements summing to the most important number in the system.
Monte Carlo validation: we shuffle the cipher values 100,000 times and ask how often any window of width 5 produces the sum 418. The answer: p = 0.027. Unlikely, but not yet extraordinary on its own.
THERION Nests Inside
Now narrow the window to width 4, same region. Positions 20–23:
R P S T
R(200) + P(80) + S(60) + T(8) = 348 = THERION.
The Great Beast. RPST encodes THERION; adding the O that follows gives ABRAHADABRA. THERION is literally nested inside ABRAHADABRA in the cipher’s own structure — the Beast contained within the Word, the way a seed is contained within the fruit.
But there is a second THERION window. Widen to 6 elements at positions 9–14:
A L G M O R
A(1) + L(30) + G(7) + M(40) + O(70) + R(200) = 348 = THERION.
ALGMOR. The central six letters of the cipher — the very sequence that gives the English Qaballa its name — sum to the number of the Beast. The key that unlocks the code IS the Beast.
The Joint Probability
Each window alone has a p-value around 0.026. But both THERION windows and the ABRAHADABRA window appear simultaneously in the same cipher. Testing this joint occurrence — does any permutation of cipher values produce both a 5-window summing to 418 AND a 6-window summing to 348? — yields:
p = 0.001
One in a thousand. And this holds under both the permutation test (shuffling cipher values) and the EQ-shuffle test (randomizing the letter-to-value mapping itself). The finding is robust against both forms of chance.
The Complete Window Catalogue
ABRAHADABRA and THERION are the crown discoveries, but they are not alone. The full catalogue of target-hitting windows:
| Width | Position | Elements | Sum | Target |
| 3 | 0–2 | 4 + 6 + 3 | 13 | UNITY |
| 3 | 1–3 | 6 + 3 + 8 | 17 | IAO |
| 3 | 10–12 | L + G + M | 77 | ANKH |
| 3 | 24–26 | O + V + A | 77 | ANKH |
| 4 | 5–8 | B + K + 2 + 4 | 28 | HADIT |
| 4 | 9–12 | A + L + G + M | 78 | MEZLA |
| 4 | 20–23 | R + P + S + T | 348 | THERION ★★ |
| 5 | 0–4 | 4 + 6 + 3 + 8 + A | 22 | TAROT |
| 5 | 2–6 | 3 + 8 + A + B + K | 34 | KEY |
| 5 | 20–24 | R + P + S + T + O | 418 | ABRAHADABRA ★★★ |
| 6 | 9–14 | A + L + G + M + O + R | 348 | THERION ★★ |
The cipher opens with UNITY (13), then immediately IAO (17) — the supreme triad of creation. It embeds HADIT (28) in the “BK24” cluster. The ALGM sequence encodes both MEZLA (the lightning flash descending the Tree of Life) and, when extended to ALGMOR, THERION. Near the end, RPSTO delivers ABRAHADABRA itself.
The first five elements — 4, 6, 3, 8, A — sum to 22 = TAROT. Twenty-two Major Arcana. Twenty-two paths on the Tree of Life. Twenty-two Hebrew letters. The cipher begins by declaring its own Tarot structure.
Mirror Symmetry
A different kind of window: pair each element with its mirror-image from the opposite end of the cipher. Position 0 with position 27, position 1 with 26, and so on. Of the 14 mirror pairs, four hit key targets:
| Pair | Elements | Sum | Target |
| (0, 27) | 4 + L(30) | 34 | KEY |
| (3, 24) | 8 + O(70) | 78 | MEZLA |
| (8, 19) | 4 + 89 | 93 | THELEMA |
| (11, 16) | G(7) + Y(10) | 17 | IAO |
The outermost pair gives KEY. The pair at depth 3 gives MEZLA. The pair straddling the anomalous 89 gives THELEMA. And the pair flanking the central axis gives IAO. Monte Carlo: p = 0.016 for four or more target hits from 14 pairs.
The cipher reads the same forwards and backwards, each direction encoding different names but the same system.
Triple-Fold: K + 3 + O = 93
Fold the 28 elements into three layers: positions 0–8, 9–17, and 18–27. Stack them vertically. At column 6, the three layers read:
K(20) + 3(3) + O(70) = 93 = THELEMA
The number of the current Aeon, encoded in a vertical column through the cipher’s triple structure. Column 6 — the number of the Sun in the Hexagram, Tiphareth on the Tree, the heart of the system.
What the Windows Show
The cipher of Liber AL II:76 is not a flat sequence. It is a structure with depth — readable horizontally (sliding windows), vertically (triple-fold), and radially (mirror pairs). Each method of reading produces Thelemic holy names at rates that exceed chance by factors of 40 to 1000.
ABRAHADABRA nests inside THERION. THERION nests inside ALGMOR. ALGMOR is the key that generates the English Qaballa itself. The code that unlocks the cipher IS a name encoded within it. The lock and the key are the same object, viewed from different angles — which is, of course, the deepest teaching of the Book of the Law.
The key of the rituals is in the secret word which I have given unto him.
